Building power with mothers.

Sandra builds spaces where Black mothers lead the conversation, define the priorities and meet the people able to change systems. This is community engagement as practice, care and national infrastructure.

Conference founder and host

A national room built around Black mothers.

The Black Maternal Health Conference UK brings mothers, clinicians, researchers, policymakers, charities and partners into one room to listen, learn and act. It is a landmark national convening created by Sandra through The Motherhood Group.

The conference makes visible the knowledge that already exists in community — and connects it to the institutions with responsibility for better care.

Joy, justice and action are all part of the work.

Care grows in company.

Every national programme begins with relationships, trust and the realities mothers name for themselves.

Culture and care

Community insight is not an add-on. It is the route to better care.

Through The Motherhood Group, Sandra commissions, co-designs and delivers culturally responsive programmes with mothers, healthcare teams, researchers and partners. The work moves from community rooms into NHS training, research, policy and practical services.

That is how lived experience becomes a force for change rather than a story institutions simply hear and leave behind.
